Money is the 5th/6th song on Pink Floyd's famous album Dark Side of the Moon, and was written by Roger Waters. It is the only song on the album to hit the top 20 in the United States charts.
The song is notable for being mainly in a 7 beat time. Contrary to popular belief though, it is not in 7/4 time, but is in fact in 21/8 time; the rhythm is indeed 7 beats, but they arranged in a shuffle feel, making the time signature 21/8, ie. 7 beats of 3. Most rock music is in 4/4 (or common time), and most of the exceptions are in 3/4 (or a similar triple meter). During the guitar solo the song changes to 4/4, then returns to 21/8 then ends in 4/4. This was done because David Gilmour, the guitarist, thought it would be too complicated to write the solo in seven beat form. Critics have commented that the change in dynamic (maintaining tempo but changing from seven beats to the bar to four beats making the song feel quicker) is one of the track's strengths.
"Money" remains the only song written in this time to reach the top 20 charts in the United States.
In the movie of The Wall, in the middle of "The Happiest Days Of Our Lives", there's a short break in the music, during which comes a scene in the school - the teacher mocks Pink's poems. The part he reads out loud is actually the lyrics of "Money": "Money get back, I'm all right Jack, Keep your hands off my stack."

CD booklet Errors
On the original CD release of 'Dark Side, the lyrics to Money contain multiple mistakes:
- Verse 1, line 2: Get a good job with more pay and your O.K. - 'your' should be 'you're'
- Verse 2, line 2: I'm all right Jack keep your hands of my stack. - 'of' should be 'off of'
- Verse 3, line 6: giving none away - 'giving' should have a capital 'G', like every other line
- Verse 2: Verse 2 is to the right of Verse 1, and Verse 3 is below Verse 1. Verse 2 should be below Verse 1, and Verse 3 to the right of Verse 1
